Description

This course is essential for students wishing to move on to Social Science related Higher Education courses including degrees in Social Work, Teaching, Psychology, Sociology and Criminology. Students are given full support to apply for a university place

Course content:

Course content includes 18 units that have been chosen to be vocationally relevant for careers in the Social Sciences.

The units include the following;

  • Personal organisation and time management.
  • Reviewing and planning for the future.
  • Sociology of the family
  • Sociology of health
  • health promotion and education
  • Introdcution to Psychology
  • Applied Stress management.
  • Introdcution to criminology
  • Crime and Deviance.
  • Research methods
  • Approaches to counselling
  • Independent academic study.

Requirements

  • A level 2 qualification in English is the minimum requirement for thie course. Although maths is not a requirement for the Access course, it is essential that candidates check the entry requirements for their university choices, before enrolling on the ACCESS course course.

    If you do require both Maths and English, then you might consider completing these alongside the level 2 Pre Access course

    What can I do after this course?

    This pathway is suitable for students wishing to move on to Social Science related Higher Education courses including degrees in Social Work, Teaching, Psychology, Sociology and Criminology.
