Description

A low impact and intensity class designed to improve health and wellbeing for anyone who is physically inactive, overweight or has a health condition. Suitable for people who want to stay seated for the whole lesson or happy to use the chair as support for standing exercises. This type of class is particularly suitable for those that have experienced a fall(s) or have a fear of falling. A fun group session which has proved to strengthen and tone the whole body by using resistance exercises taken by a qualified exercise instructor.

Course content:

Your safety is our priority, and in these unprecedented times we need to make some temporary changes until it is safe to welcome you all into class.

So, to begin with, your classes will be taught with a mix of online teaching and some 1:1 tutorial or small group work in a safe, socially distanced environment. Some cases courses may be taught fully online if that works best.

However, nobody needs to come into class until they feel happy to do so, all the materials you need to succeed will be online, and if you choose to stay home, we will make sure you will receive all the support you need via email, phone and through our Virtual Learning Environment.

Requirements

  • Open to all fitness level.

What do I need to do this course?

As the course will initially commence online you will require:

  • Internet access
  • A computer with a webcam or a smartphone
  • A peaceful place to participate in the course from
  • An email account

Wear appropriate exercise clothing and trainers.

Bring a bottle of water and a small towel.

If you are asthmatic do please bring your inhaler with you.

Teaching Methods

  • Exercises are modelled by the instructor.

    Repetitions and alternatives given.

    Guidance and structured routines provided.

    The training incorporates new exercises with science applied

    movements with the aid of some equipment.


    How is your progress checked?

    Weekly monitoring via the response at the increasing amount of resistance exercises.

    Extra study or practice required at home.
