Description

In the first 5 weeks we will work with you to build your confidence and skills, whatever your starting point. In the second half of the course you will work on a project brief designed to develop the skills you have told us you want to develop so you have the opportunity to practice and quickly learn the skills you need.

Course content:

  • Word processing (MS Word).
  • Entering and formatting data in spreadsheets.
  • Using formulae for calculations in spreadsheets.
  • Creating and formatting charts in spreadsheets.
  • Organising and sharing files and folders.
  • Create a presentation with PowerPoint.
  • Working 'in the cloud' with Google Docs/Sheets/Drive.
  • 5 weeks of project time to develop your IT skills.

  • You will need online access to your email account.

    • Each stage will have a tutor demonstration followed by practical tasks to be carried out.
    • One-to-one help and handouts will be provided.
    • A variety of online resources will be used.
    • Project time to consolidate and extend skills.

    Each practical task will be checked and understanding will be checked during individual discussion with learners.
