This course is aimed at DSLR camera users that rarely get off auto mode, are a little confused by what all the functions of the camera do, and are a little uninspired by their photography. You will learn new camera functions and how to apply them to make creative images, by undertaking fun class challenges and home assignments. Learn the creative joy of photography, be inspired by some great photographers, gain confidence with your camera and make more interesting and dynamic photographs!
This course is ideal for those who attended part one of this course. But is suitable for all beginners. We will be learning how to master the camera in manual mode as well as which modes suit what conditions best.
Learn how to take contro of your camera to make more creative images. and learn good compositional skills.
Students will also be introduced to and encouraged to make images in response to a variety of different genres of photography as well as being inspired and learning from some of the great masters of photography.
Ideally completion of Creative Photogrphy for beginners Part 1. But is also oopen to new comers.
A Dslr camera, memory card, fully charged battery, note pad and pen.
A tripod would be ideal, but if not owned, advice will be given over the duration of the course.
Feel free to bring any extra lenses and filters that you may wish learn about.
There will be tutor-led tutorials and hands-on practical exercises throughout the course with plenty of time allowed for you to explore and experiment. There will also be the opportunity for group discussions about a variety of photography topics and all subjects taught throughout the course will be supported by presentations, demonstrations and hand-outs. The course is also supported online via a secure group photography board where resources will be shared and students can share their images for tutor and peer to peer support.
There will also be the opportunity to have lessons on location and hone your skills.
Each technical skill taught will be accompanied by a challenge fo rthe student to undetake,,both in class with supervision and between lassons, as a self directed task.
Students will be given feedback on their progress and guidance as to how to improve their skills and creativty.
Learners will be encouraged to keep a learner diary and a folio of their images.
This can be done digitally and via the class online image board.
You will also get constructive and encouraging feedback on progress from the tutor and peers.
Assignments will be given for students to practise their new skills and engage with photography as a hobby. Assignments will be reviewed in class in a safe and positive environment for students to learn from, and be able to encourage each other’s progress.
There is a further course, Introduction to Dslr Photography 3 which will progress from this course, with lots of great creative photography tutorials, techniques and projects.
