This Halloween spend a day creating and sharing spine-tingling tales in the atmospheric Edwardian Foredown Tower. Local writer Rachel Shorer will show you how to create terrifying antagonists and hapless heroes, to describe chilling settings and to shape page-turning plots. Writing exercises, reading examples of scary stories and sharing your writing with the group will help you to create your own piece of hair-raising writing. A playful day for beginner and experienced writers to explore what lurks in the shadows…. if you dare!
There will be temporary changes to the teaching of this course due to Covid 19
Your safety is our priority, and in these unprecedented times we need to make some temporary changes until it is safe to welcome you all into class.
So, to begin with, your classes will be taught with a mix of online teaching and some 1:1 tutorial or small group work in a safe, socially distanced environment. Some cases courses may be taught fully online if that works best.
However, nobody needs to come into class until they feel happy to do so, all the materials you need to succeed will be online, and if you choose to stay home, we will make sure you will receive all the support you need via email, phone and through our Virtual Learning Environment.
No experience neccessary, just willingness to have a go
As the course will initially commence online you will require:
A pen and some paper to write on.
Writing exercises.
Responding to prompts.
Reading extracts from ghost stories.
Sharing writing in a supportive atmosphere.
The tutor will check your progress throughout the day in order to support you.
