Achievement of the qualification will support learners to enter employment within health and social care sectors by providing the background knowledge and skills needed to work within health and social care. Students completing this course could apply for the Access to Higher Education Diploma course at PACA Adult Learning
This course will be taught as an on line course with some small class tutorials when it is safe for staff and learners to return to the classroom

However, nobody needs to come into class until they feel happy to do so, all the materials you need to succeed will be online, and if you choose to stay home, we will make sure you will receive all the support you need via email, phone and through our Virtual Learning Environment.
This qualification is aimed at learners interested in, or new to, working in adult social care in England. It aims to introduce knowledge around the following areas relating to working in adult social care:
No formal qualifications are required. However, the interview process will include a literacy assessment and students should achieve level 2 or above in this assessment
As this course will be delivered online you will require:
Pen; paper; folder and dividers. The recommended reading list will be provided at the interview.
Please note that students will be expected to meet deadlines, conduct research and take part in group activities. There will be the opportunity to complete some of the course as distance/ blended learning. This will be discussed at the interview
Regular homework assignments and 1:1 tutorials.
An additional 3-4 hours of home study is required.
