This new qualification is the first at Level 4 for Teaching Assistants. Developing a L4 qualification for those people who want to progress their careers in the field of teaching and learning support. This course will be delivered through distance learning with fortnightly sessions supported by innovative, interactive educational content to support learners to complete assignments during school closures; practical assignments and classroom observation to take place when schools are reopened. You will be fully supported by the course tutor through online video tutorials and regular email feedback.
This qualification will equip you with knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of key subjects so you can progress in your chosen career.
You must be aleast 18 years old and employed in a suitable role within any school or college.
Only a portfolio. paper and writing materials everything else is provided.
A computer with a webcam or a smartphone.
A peaceful place to participate in the course from.
An email account.
Online tutorials and classroom discussions will help you to prepare for the assignments to cover the unit requirements of this course. You will meet with your tutor online every other Thursday evening for 12 sessions (no sessions during the school holidays). Additional resources will be available to you on Moodle. Fully supported by the tutor, you will receive excellent feedback and advice via email, online video and telephone conversations.
You complete a portfolio of work to show that you are competent to the standards (DFES).
There is a process of quality checking, which is designed to make sure that the qualification is quality driven. The final portfolio is checked by CACHE, the awarding body, to check standards are maintained in line with other providers country wide.
You will need to put aside between approx 5 hours each week for research and completing assisgnments. Remember that the sessions at college are only fortnightly (term time) so that equates to only18 sessions.
