Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Aldridge Education is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

Some images may not have suitable alternative text. This means people using screen readers may not receive the same information as other users. This does not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-text Content. We will review images across the website and add or improve alternative text where needed.

Some documents, including PDFs and Word documents, may not be fully accessible. This means they may not be structured correctly for screen readers, may not have appropriate headings, or may not contain accessible tables. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. We will review key documents and provide accessible versions where possible.

Some videos may not have captions or transcripts. This means users who are deaf, hard of hearing, or unable to play audio may not be able to access the information. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.2.2 Captions. We will aim to provide captions or transcripts for important video content.

Some link text may not clearly describe the destination of the link. This can make navigation more difficult for screen reader users. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose. We will review link text as part of our ongoing website maintenance.

Some pages may not use headings and page structures consistently. This can make it harder for users of assistive technology to navigate the website. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. We will address this as pages are reviewed and updated.

Disproportionate burden

At this stage, we have not identified any accessibility issues that we believe would be a disproportionate burden to fix.

If this changes, we will explain the issue, the impact on users and our reasoning in this section.

Content that is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Some older PDFs or documents published before 23 September 2018 may not be fully accessible. These are exempt from the regulations unless they are needed to use a service.

Live video streams are exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

Some content on this website may be provided by third-party systems or platforms. While we aim to choose accessible systems wherever possible, we may not have full control over their accessibility.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

We are committed to improving accessibility across our websites. We will:

  • Review and update key website content so that it is clear, structured and accessible
  • Improve alternative text for images
  • Improve the accessibility of documents that are essential for families, learners, staff and stakeholders
  • Provide accessible alternatives where documents cannot be made fully accessible
  • Consider accessibility when commissioning new website features, systems or content
  • Provide guidance to staff who create and upload website content
  • Review this statement regularly

Accessibility is part of our wider commitment to inclusion, ensuring that every member of our community can access the information they need.

We will continue to review the accessibility of this website and update this statement when improvements are made.
